Hi!
I’m looking for food suggestions that I can eat before sleep (usually about 2200hr) that are non meat/dairy that will last overnight.

Because im having hypos between 0300-0630hr.

Thank you

Hi,

What basal are you using?
I can't help with the appropriate snacks.
However, I do use Lantus as a basal. Inject at 22.00 & hypo zones can occur twix 3&6am.
You may need to speak to your HCPs regarding a tweak to dosage? How are your BGs the rest of the day..?

Why not reduce your basal insulin? If your levels are dropping to hypo levels, you have too much insulin.
Rather than considering what to eat, you need to consider your blood sugar when you go to bed and your basal insulin.
Typically, it is advised to go to bed at around 7 or 8. So you need to work out what to eat to get your blood sugars to this level.

The other thing to consider is whether you are really hypoing. If you think you are hypoing because you are using a Libre, it may be due to a false compression low.

I would think eating before bed to prevent this maybe counter productive as the first part of the night you'll have a higher bg than you should

as suggested above it was recommended by my consultant 7 to 8 to goto bed and adjust the Basal dose so that my bg is 6 to 7 in the morning

And yes if you have cgm/libre as suggested above check with a proper blood test I often get alerts that I'm hypo and its where I've slept on my sensor

If your care team has discussed basal adjustment with you then you could look at adjusting your own dose other wise I'd recommend discussing it with them
