Type 2 Foot infection

I have an infection under a toe nail, the pain got worse during the morning, didn't improve with paracetamol and ibuprofen. Went to the doc, on 4 antibiotics a day and she gave me codeine for the pain. Been taking the codeine every four hours, but the pain is as intense, and I can't even bear a sock on my foot. I suffer from neuropathy anyway, and nothing works for that either (was on gabapentin, pregabalin and duloxetine at various times, but they all had terrible side effects). Anyone know of any effective pain relief - I am climbing the walls with this.

But salty water is good for infections.

It was your mention of hot salty water, people with neuropathy issues can lose the feelings in their feet.

Actually, my doctor today recommended I do that twice a day to help draw out the infection. I often soak my feet in water with Epsom salts - today though it did nothing for the pain.

@nannoo_bird - Keep a close eye on that infection, and have it rechecked if you're not seeing any improvement.
