Foot pain

My right foot is constantly in pain , and pins and needles it also goes into cramp spasms which literely makes me scream does anyone else have this problem ? My G.P says its not diabetes related but the symptoms are according to information I've read . I'm type 1
 
Hi Chuckymarie,

What are you BG Level's like? I have this problem, but it only tends to be when I've had extremely high Blood Sugar (to the point of ketones) and it's dropped to normal level's pretty rapidly, this has mostly happened in the middle of the night. Touch wood, I've not experienced this for quite a while. I've always found that putting my weight on the cramp and having a painkiller does the trick.
 
Hi I'm Having the same pain to The diabetic nurse seem to think this will go when my sugar levels come down in the meantime the doctor has gave me some painkillers which are no help to be honest I'm type one as Well, The pain is immense at nighttime seen the specialist on the 10th next month I'll keep you posted I hope yours is better soon

Thanks for your posts I'm just relieved to hear that it's not my imagination my BG are always high or low very rare I get a normal . This foot and the cramps have been going on like this for over 3 years now I've just learnt to live with it . But thank you again .
 
I get foot pain and cramp in both my feet every night.
I have been placed on most of the relief medications that the doctors recommend i.e Gabapentin (made me like a zombie so came off it).......Pregablin (same thing came off it too) and finally Duloxatine (gave me severe diareah and feeling sick plus chronic fatigue...guess what came off it too).

Now I just use co-codamol between 4 and 6 tabs a day not fantastic but does help. the other thing to do is keep your sugars down to as close to normal as possible you'll get les pain then.

I have noticed if I have a ruby with fried rice and a nan then by god my feet explode into total chaos when I get to bed.
Just shows what the carbs do to us.
