Saw this announced on Dr Jason Fung's blog. A low carb convention is being held in San Diego, July 29 - 31.
Speakers include Dr Fung, Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt (from Sweden’s dietdoctor.com), Jimmy Moore, Gary Taubes, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Jeffrey Gerber, Ivor Cummins (Ireland) Karen Thompson (from South Africa), Emily McGuire (from Scotland) and many more will be there from all over the world.

Thanks Indy. I can't afford to go but it was interesting exploring the website. Quite a few presenters with whom I'm unfamiliar. Will have to learn more about them. Decades ago, I went to events like this. Lots of fun but little sleep!

OK, round trip from DC to San Diego is from 700 to 1400 bucks for an eight to fourteen hour trip, then there's the taxi, Then there's the daily wifi fee and then there's all the meals not included in the $150 evening get togethers.

For a one hour talk, not a reasonable idea. Plus, they don't guarantee the speakers and half of the speakers are people talking about their low carb experiences. For that I have this forum.

A ripoff!

I really enjoy following and learning from all these luminaries, but the costs of "up close and personal" conferences seem to be skyrocketing...they need to be careful and ensure the mighty dollar does not compromise them.
