Hi,

I forgot to bring my tablets to work today. Going home to collect them is not an option as its a 3 hour round trip. I have never used the pharmacies in my work area so I cant get an emergency prescription. My blood sugar has already crept up to 14.6.

Any suggestions on what to do to stop it going higher? I have considered not eating any thing at all but to drink fluids

I currently take gliclazide....

Many thanks in advance, feel like such an idiot!

Hi,

Drink loads of water and don't eat any carbs. Do eat though - cheese and/or cold meats would be fine. I hope you are OK. Let us know.

Don't worry, stress can raise your levels. You can't do anything about it. Just take your next dose later when your home.

thank you for quick replies. looks like its water for the day lol

havent got my blood pressure tablets so have to avoid stress as well...... going to be one of those days!

the BS are on the way down so not so worried. Checking them every 2 hours Latest reading was 7.5

Suggest you split the supply between work and home so you avoid this in future :)

Think what I will do is just keep a spare tablet in my purse. Unfortunately my job means I could be anywhere at short notice and often I don't have a dedicated desk to leave stuff on.

I manged to control during the day and kept it between 6 and 7 once it got down to that range.

Thanks
