since Wednesday I have had a raging infection and toothache in my right side wisdom tooth - after seeing the dentist and having it taken out I am on the mend but....

from Wednesday until yesterday I lived totally on carbs! I never slept for 2 nights and felt sick all the time but was still hungry (nothing ever puts me off me grub! ) the GP told me to still take my meds and eat what I could - even got strips to test so I put them to good use and did some intensive testing and decided to eat what I fancied and could manage rather than eat what I should - a couple of days wasn't gonna kill me! I had some surprising results

I had porridge, bananas, mashed pots, tinned soup high in carbs - fish shop fish cakes, pobs (bread with butter and sweetener soaked in hot milk  )- tested every hour and never went above 6! - some 2 hr readings were in the high 3's

now in no way shape or form am I saying what I did was right and I certainly wont be carrying on like this - I am back on my normal regime from today.

I know all about fast acting carbs,GI ,peaks troughs bla bla bla but testing every hour I would have expected to catch me on the way up or down but no

just wondered what peoples thoughts are on this?

you have lot a huge amount of weight. perhaps your insulin sensitivity is improving.

You're right, it is strange. And good! Maybe as Hanadr says your insulin sensitivity has improved greatly. if so, well done!

Yes looking at your profile you've done brilliantly! Maybe all that hard work has paid off and you have lost a load of resistance.

Your cured lovinglife

It's a real theory guys but I have been the same weight and on the same regime for over 2 years now so not sure that is the answer - thought maybe I wasn't eating as many carbs as I thought (usually about 90g low GI a day)- maybe having no protien had something to do with it - who knows  - just a shame I was in too much pain to enjoy the said baddies  - oh and I lost 3lb - almost back to normal now so will see what happens about that - probably find the 3lb again in a couple of days
