Free browser extension to access journal articles behind a paywall

There's a browser extension which searches for free versions of scientific papers that are behind a paywall. It's called Unpaywall, it works on Chrome or Firefox on a desktop, it's legal and it's free. Could be useful for diabetes-related articles if you don't have institutional access.

Thanks, already tried it. If it has any problem, it would be that the searches in it bring back too extensive results

The way I understand is that if someone gives you a link to a paper where the full text is behind a paywall, the extension will look to see if there is a free version of that paper available. For example, the following papers were linked on the forum but the full text required registration or subscription - with the browser extension, there is a green 'open' padlock which takes you to a single version of the full paper when clicked:-

• http://jech.bmj.com/content/71/1/25
• http://stm.sciencemag.org/content/9/377/eaai8700.full

I haven't found any examples yet where more than one free version is found so, out of interest, could you give an example of link where this happens? Thanks.
