Free eye test

Hi all

My eye test is due at specsavers and it’s free for diabetics, just wondering if I’m still classed as diabetic I’m on no longer on medication.
But still have been sent for Glucoma eye screening this year and still have my HB1AC checked annually.
I asked receptionist at my doctors and she said it still states diabetes on my notes.
I thought there may be a diabetes register, of patients.
I still have an nhs exemption certificate for prescriptions.
I just don’t want to get into trouble for claiming something I’m not entitled to

Just because you have it in remission doesn't mean you don't still have it :)

Bit like the fact that I'm gluten-intolerant but since I don't eat gluten it has no effect on my health (apart from me whinging a lot about prices of gluten-free stuff), doesn't mean its gone though.

Hi @Laconic Although I have had a fully functioning transplanted pancreas since 2013, I am still having to renew my driving licence every 3 years and therefore having to go to Specsavers for a free eye test! I have tried to penetrate the extremely thick hide of DVLA and The Diabetic Eyescreening Service, but have given up the unequal struggle and am just grateful I still get a licence! Don't worry about it!
