Hi, I just checked the NHS app to order a repeat prescription and noticed that the Freestyle Libre 2 has been added to my prescription list which is obviously great news! Is this UK wide?!

Unlikely to be UK wide as healthcare is devolved to the individual nations.
I believe Libre have been standard for people with Type 1 in Scotland for some time but not other nations.

Yeah it wasn’t unilaterally changed in Scotland all at once but each health board moved us over automatically and informed us of the change prior to it happening. For me, I was informed in April.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum..
That's a turn up for the books. :) Nice one!
Where are your located? (Just a rough region.)
My endo agreed I could have them after a phone consultation in the new year?
I must admit, I was notified officially when I received a CC'd letter to my GP asking him to be a good fellow & bang em on repeat. By that time I'd already been out (force of habit.) & bought one..

Officially all should be moved over. They cost exactly the same and there is no reason why you should not have it on prescription in place of the 1 if it is what you want and you already have Libre on the NHS. I delayed mine during the pandemic in case their were issues ( which there have been ironically) but I could have been moved way before I eventually was. Am in Leeds.

Endo said he would fill out form for me and apply, not sure how long it takes but feels like months and no news, so not UK wide, I’m within M25

Mountain out of mole hill makers ,queues , crowds , shopping on a Saturday hmm just shopping I guess no matter what day it is
I’m in Scotland and have had them on repeat for quite some time, I was given 2 for every prescription when on Libre 1 but not my repeat on Libre 2 is for 4 , there doesn’t seem to be a time restriction either
