I've been using Libre 2 for a couple of months now with the reader as my phone (Motorola G8 Power) won't support the app. I've had no problems at all with alarms (lots!) or the sensors so I've been really pleased to virtually give up pricking my fingers after nearly 50 years with diabetes (diagnosed then as type 2), more than half of those on insulin.

I was thinking of getting a new phone just to be compatible with the LibreLink app but I'm rather put off by the difficulties some of you here on the forum (and other sources) seem to be having. I would hate to buy a new phone and find it didn't work well with the app! Currently I'm inputting my readings, dosage and sometimes a note on another app - Diabetes Management, which works well and produces graphs, charts and a lot more (Bolus advisor - doesn't work for me with impaired digestion). Obviously it's a pain having to do this and I won't keep it up all the time.

Advice please! Is it worth the hassle (and cost) I'll go through to use LibreView?

I had to get a new phone as the iPhone I had was too old and would not support the app. have found no issues with the app on my new one which is a iPhone.

You can still download Libre view info onto your computer if you have one from your reader. I have to admit I have a phone and Libre view is there but I never look at it. The information is there for medical staff but I have the day to day info I need on my phone app.

Thanks for the comments - it's just a bit of a leap buying a new phone as I'm happy with my old one. But I find it annoying that with the reader you can only tick a couple of boxes for notes, not actually write anything.

Yes there is a lot more flexibility for note taking. However I confess to writing very little. The main importance for me is logging when and how much insulin is taken. Easy with the new pens that scan.

I need to catch up! For years I used refillable pens with cartridges but had so many pen failures that I moved onto disposable ones so I always had and alternative and because you don't use them for so long I find they're more reliable. But I hate the idea of putting them in landfill. At least with Novo Nordisk you can recycle the used pens - used to take them to Boots who supplied a collection box but now need to order one direct from Novo Nordisk.
