I switched from the FS Libre 2 to FS Libre 2 Plus for several months now because I wanted automatic updated readings of my glucose levels without having to keep scanning my sensor all the time. However, even though it costs more than the FSL 2 the new FSL 2 Plus are a far cry from being ok, leave along perfect! I get some sensors that connect to my iPhone app Bluetooth right away and stay on for the full 15 days and some that don’t connect to my iPhone app Bluetooth at all! This means I’m paying for a 2Plus but getting a FSL2! Every time I speak to the Abbott help line I have explain everything all over again from the beginning even though they take my details everytime but the call centre doesn’t seem to have any history of my case and keep saying “I fully understand your problem” which drives me mad!
I have had them send me replacement sensors but some of those dont connect to my Bluetooth! They keep telling me that my Bluetooth should not have any other devices on it because ‘it will interfere with those’ which means I cannot wear my Apple Watch which tells me when to take my medications etc and I also cannot wear my hearing aids! I said this was ridiculous because this endangers my health, wellness and safety! And I can’t have a separate iPhone for my other devices either!!
They sent me a FS Libre Reader and said I should use that to start my sensor two days ago and then use my iPhone app. It didn’t work! They’ve now told me to change my sensor. That’s another £53.00 down the drain even if they send me a free sensor. Since I have Type 2 Diabetes I’m not entitled to an NHS sensor. But even if I was, this issue with some sensors working on my iPhone Bluetooth and some not working would still be there.
I have told them that there is something wrong with the design or manufacture of the FSL 2 Plus sensor and not with my iPhone because it should work even if other important devices are also connected like my hearing aids. But the UK Customer Care people just don’t seem to ‘get it’!
I’m really fed up with Abbott. Please advise me which other CGM system works better that Freestyle Libre??
