I did the 2 week free trial of the Libre 2 and it seemed like a really good idea despite it taking several goes to get a reading most times and it recording what i think were probably quite low readings. I ordered two thinking they would be a good investment in seeing exactly how my body responds to things. The first one failed after 5 days for no reason I could tell. I rang the company and went through a whole rigmarole about what phone I'm using etc and they sent a replacement. The next one fee off after 8 days or so - just plopped off inside my top. I followed all the instructions and used an alcohol wipe and air dried before sticking. Again, they have sent a replacement, but I have been reluctant to put another on. Does anyone have tips? It's all feeling a bit of a faff and I've been back finger pricking.

Hi Shiela,
I have started using the libre 2 in the last 4 months. It is unfortunate that you have had two diffent problems together which sort of undermines your confidence I am sure.
I have not had a sensor actually fall off but got close. fortunately it stayed on for another couple of days to the end of that sensor, I am now very careful to have a shower the morning of 'change day'. I then use at least 2 alcahol swabs to scrub the area. It amazes me how much dirt appears even though I have showered so recently.
I wait a few minutes fr the area to dry properly and then apply the new sensor firmly. This gets it to stick very well and I have to pull quite hard to get the sensor adhesive to let go at the end of two weeks.

It was a learning curve but once I got into the routine I find it reliable and the data is just so useful. I encourage you to perservere and am sure your confidence and trust in this new system will grow and you will wonder how you managed without it :-) My fingers love it. They are healing nicely after a billion slab wounds....history !

I’m new to the Libre 2 things after 35 years of finger pricking (yep. I know.) and I’ve invested in some patch stickers to help the sensor stay in place… despite following instructions for sticking, I lost two to my apparently rather physical sleeping habits!

I went for the “Patchinga” brand, as the name made me laugh, but I expect there’s not much difference in efficacy between whatever takes your fancy

Either way, good luck with the next sensor!

Thank you for your replies. I am hoping I was just unlucky. I spoke to a colleague with Type 1 who has been using them for years and was surprised at my issues. I was surprised she has hers at the front of her arm, not the back! Anyway, I have taken the plunge and put one on again this time with a patch sticker. I did watch the video and followed the advice as far as possible. Fingers crossed!

Hello people….. Don’t pay another cent for the Libre 2….. Why they are still advertising it like crazy is unknown…. The Libre 3 beats all. As good as the Dexcom 6 or better and matches the Dexcom 7 quality standards…… Stop and research the 3 and you will never go back….. Scanning your sensor is for people who don’t know about the 3… I don’t scan anymore as my glucose is gathered every 60 seconds. That I for is sent to my phone or my ipad…… Are people still using the 2 or the 14 day????? I have to ask why…… actually I know, but don’t want to step on them any harder than I just did…. I will answer questions…

Hi @Type2guy4.9
It's good to know you will answer questions.
I'm curious as to how a CGM, even a Libre 3, help you control Type 2 diabetes with exercise and a happy face? From your profile it seems you don't even need to watch what you eat!
