Hi,

I have tried 3 Freestyle 2 sensors today. I'm on my fourth now, waiting for the 60minute window to try again

When I scan, it says Change sensor!

All of them have a date until 2025.

I also reloaded the app.

I have tried 2 sensors on my iPhone App and 1 on the Abbott machine and both give the same message.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Paul

Call Abbott. They should replace them all free of charge

Welcome to the forum @DotofSad .
i’ve had the odd sensor fail soon after starting or not even started. As @MrsA says ring Abbott, they will ask various details and may ask for you to return the faulty ones. They will supply return envelopes with the replacement sensors.

i have had 3 fail in7 weeks all replaced by abbott. this evening problem new sensor connects correctly then drops out with the rescan in 10 mins. come back on it the low glucose alrm going potty sensor shows 3.4 and falling. check with my contour next which shows 12.8, percentage acuraccy? and yes i know one is blood and the other is intercellular fluid.

WELL my sensor alarm was going off at 2 am this morning, I shoved a few jelly babies into my mouth and tried go back to sleep, nope alarm was going off again saying level was low and seeing as had no more jelly babies in my bedside drawer I had to get up and have some more the sensor had by now stopped working so put the phone on charge when the sensor came back on it said my level was 22 so that told me the dam thing was not working right so out came my finger pricker and it will stay by my side now always growls I shall be tired out the rest of the day !!!!

If you get a "rescan in 10 minutes."
It sounds to me like rapidly changing interpretation of BG levels?
That will cause the reader to hold off till it chops better sense into what's happening..

Abbott advise to ALWAYS check highs and lows with a finger prick before treating unless you feel obviously hypo.
There are limitations with all CGMs which are important to understand.
For example, a night time low could be a compression low.

the nice lady at abbott said if you get 2 hours of rescan in ten minutes it should be reported as faulty, the sensor failed the following morning
