Hello, I am considering buying a Freestyle Libre kit to use with my smart phone. Do I just need to buy the pack of sensors?

That is my understanding based on what I have read. I use a Libre 2 and I did buy the receiver but it will work with my Smartphone, I just didn't want to go that route.

Hi if you are type 1 or LADA you can get libre 2 sensors from your doctor ,( at nearly £58 a sensor that works for two weeks) it's better to get it from your consultant. Ask your diabetic consultant / nurse for the libre 2 sensors.
Good luck.

My understanding is one with diabetes should be paying £58 per sensor.Having diabetes means they are VAT exempt and are £48.29 direct from Abbott.
That said, I agree if your diabetes is treated with insulin, you should get them on prescription.

You might want to check that the app is compatible with your smartphone first....

@ambe7 your thread is entitled Libre 3 .
To my understanding, this version is not available to purchase in the UK.
