I’ve been using the Freestyle Libre CGM for a bit over 2 years now and it normally works very well though I feel it under reads my actual blood glucose levels slightly most of the time. I’ve had a few sensors which were faulty and were replaced by FreeStyle Libre. However, yesterday I came to the end of the 14 day period of sensor use and applied a new sensor and started it up. After the 1 hour wait period I got the following message when I scanned the sensor. ‘Check Sensor. Please check your Sensor. If it is loose from your skin, please remove the Sensor and start a new one. If it is applied property, try starting Sensor again’
The sensor was not loose so I started it again. After 1 hour after I scanned the sensor I got the same error message. I repeated the process 3 times with the same result. This morning I removed the sensor and carefully applied a new one. After start up and the 1 hour wait when I scanned the new sensor I got the same Check Sensor error message! In the Event Log there is Er3,336 & Er3,302 during this period.
I will of course be contacting the FreeStyle Libre help line as I may have received a number of dodgy sensors. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems.

Hi @Hakkeirs ,
Welcome to the forum.
What device are you using, a phone?
Are you just scanning your sensor, or do you use a set up with a Bluetooth bridge? Like a Bubble or Miaomiao with an associated reader app?
Unfortunately my iPhone 6s can’t support the App so it’s just the reader supplied by FreeStyle. I’m on my second reader as there was a fault with the previous one.
Are you using Libre 1 or changed to the recently released Libre 2?
I'm thinking a possible algorithm issue with your app?
Oh I’d much rather have the Libre 2. I’ll be chasing up trying to get oneLibre 2 costs not a penny more. There is absolutely no argument not to be changed over. Unless like me you are happy where you are at this moment in time.
I’ll be ringing them tomorrow at 8Am. Just replaced the second sensor and am having the same problem. The fault must be with the reader. Realise what a pain it is (literally) to have to do finger prick tests. It’s like being back in the dark ages.I’ve had the same problem a couple of times I just phoned Abbott and they were replaced without any problem

Yes, it's worth checking you haven't got a Libre 2 by mistake as this needs the new reader. On a side issue I think it's madness the NHS not going with Libre 2. I self-fund so have the choice. Perhaps the NHS gets a better deal with Abbott for the Libre 1?
