Fantastic results. With just finger pricks there is no way to know what's going on between pricks unless you have a cgm that is. What's with the 3 time changes - did you go the wrong way initially?Well I don't ever remember having a day this smooth. Maybe because I'm testing a lot and not over reacting.
Really enjoying the Libre

No, thats MDIWow! Very impressive! Are you pumping?
Getting basal right is the key. Also I low carb, so errors are smaller (and I've had 42 years practiceOk I'm doing something seriously wrong!!

I am so glad I joined this thread. Still getting to gripps with my diabetes. This is really helpdul, never though about multiple injections when I ha e a drink. Hope I don't sound nieve. The Good:
Went to the pub last night at about 21.30 and took the Libre with me. I normally have 3 pints then inject - another 3 pints and inject again and so on.
Well last night at 22.25 a scan showed fast rising sugars (this was after 1 1/2 pints) so I decided (based on the scan) to change my routine and inject early. I had another couple of pints then went home.
Note scans are on average 2 mmol/L lower than fingerprick readings (except a couple taken around midnight of 25th which were surprisingly accurate (!?)
The glucose curve above shows I peaked at 23:03 @ 9.2 mmol/L - I'm still drinking at this point. Next visit to the pub I'll inject after 1 pint and see if I can flatten the peak a little more. I'd never have got such useful data from fingerpricks alone.
Below is the full data which I exported into Excel - the 2nd column is data the sensor recorded, the 3rd column is manual scan readings.
The Bad:
Once my blood glucose had returned to normal, manual scans would only display 'LO', recorded data from the sensor flat lined at 2.2 mmol/L.
Notice the gaps in the recorded data above - this is odd as the data exported into Excel (below) shows readings were recorded during these gaps.
The 4th column below is blood glucose readings. Unfortunately as things stand I can't use the Libre for seeing what my glucose levels are doing throughout the night.
The Ugly:
I think my third sensor is dead - all I am getting now is:
Many thanks, found it.Just had a look but can't find it, any more info?
For some this is correct my second sensor is now fitted, if I do a blood test then 10 mins later scan with the libre then the figures almost matchHi all
Since it measures in I-Liquid not blood the 15-20 minutes gap is quite normal.
The BG shown on a screen is the one you had 15-20 minutes ago.
It's just the matter of a habbit to get used to it. Trends - that's what extremely important.
And if ...as in smidge's case it doesn't show trends correctly - that's a pity.
I wasn't eating so there was no rise or fall and it was wrong totally for 48hrs"I'm happy to accept a difference of 1.5mmol. If I do a scan and it says 6 I then know I'm ok"
Well it just means that it was 6 10-15 minutes ago and can easily be 3-4 now.
It's crucial to re-check manually in "red zone" moments.
Especially on a falling trend.
Hi there, I have been following this thread as I am really keen to get the Libre and my husband has agreed I can get one as an early christmas present!
I wondered if anyone had any information with regards to the yearly subscription for the sensors? I have contacted Abbott but have heard nothing back from them and there is very little information on their site about it.
Does anyone know how you sign up for the subscription and if the products are discounted if you do?
Thank you.
Hey guys!
I know it's a little late now for answers (I'm on hols so a late night!) but when you all login tomorrow, could you have a look at your readers and see if they're still showing whether your BG is rising or falling please? Mine seems to be always showing a horizontal arrow since I changed the time. Now, I had a pretty good BG day with just a couple of out-of-target spikes, but there are times when the BG was definitely rising or falling, but still the horizontal arrow. I'll ring Abbotts tomorrow, but would be good to know if yours are still showing the correct direction of BG.
