Not to shake you up, It is not as bad as it sounds. this is not a continuing problem.

When I placed the most recent sensor, I say a small bit of blood come through the center of the sensor, not much at all but I did use a tissue to capture it. The bleeding stopped quickly.

I know there is a tiny filament that is sent into the skin so that may explain it. I just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this. I will call FreeeStyle on Monday to ask.

I've never used that type of sensor but have been on sensors for 12 years and this has happened to me maybe 5 times.. sometimes when I place the sensor I get a steady stream of blood and once on removing it.. but I am assured it is just when you hit a small blood vessel spot on and it is not at all dangerous. Depending on where you place it will depend on how many blood vessels there are to hit so may happen more frequently to some people.

It’s not a problem - they say “bleeders make better readers” :)

I’ve not hit a blood vessel yet (bet I do next time now...) but I think my current one hit a nerve, as it’s aching a bit.

Maybe it is a good thing. It shows that the sensor is properly seated.

I've had one bleeder where it ran down my arm. Just used one of the medicated wipes to clean up. Stopped quickly and it was a pretty accurate sensor. Nothing to worry about.
