Hi all I've been having lots of issues with my recent libre2 sensors and yes I know they are being replaced my 2 plus are waiting to be picked up.
My question to you all is has anybody else have had huge drops say from 10 plus to say 6 when you notice it's falling fast, so you start saying a bottle of lucozade followed by say digestives biscuits failing that jelly babies, and there is nothing you can do from making them drop ? The other week we was out walking my sugars was fine there was a hill not massive but at the bottom I checked I was 6.6 it took say a minute to go up this hill my alarm went off at 5 even though it's set at 5.6 so I drank a 380 ml bottle of lucozade. we walked to the car another 2 minutes by then it's 4.2 I ate 3 digestive biscuits it's now 3.5 and I'm feeling fine. My wife drives me home and now it's 18 plus and showing I had a low that day and that I had 1 14 days ago yet I had photos showing the last lows was 90 days ago. 2 days later the 7 days 1 was on there the 14 days had gone and now I only have 1% on the 90 days ????
I'm hoping the new 2 plus are better for reliability I also had to replace 1 today I'd had it in 4 days and it suddenly started to hurt like hell it hadn't been knocked but the pain was immense. Thanks all sorry for the essay lol.

Hi,

What I have noticed for years with Libres & hypos is they can lag in response to recovery sometimes dropping a little further before coming back up.
They can say I’m only just back in range a good half hour after I’ve actually recovered & even a confirmation using the meter?

I read somewhere that the interstitial fluid the sensor probe tests can be the last thing normal BGs replenish, with the brain being the priority after the crisis of low BG?

The other day when it dropped I didn't have a finger prick tester so I couldn't check but I felt fine but because of the 5 to drive I didn't just in case. What is the difference from 2 to 2 plus ???
I normally fit the new 1 24 plus hrs on advance as I've found using them straight away they seem unreliable ??
After a day they seem to settle down. Thanks for your reply.

I self fund and switched from the 2 to the 2 plus last summer. The most noticeable difference is that they last 15 days not 14. I have had less problems since the swap, although this is more to do with signal loss rather than dodgy readings. Abbott have always replaced them no problem though. I put the new one on 12+ hours before the old one runs out.

I’ve had my script changed to the 2+ a few months ago.
I still get given the 14 day sensors. I’m not that concerned about the extra day.
I’d sooner they pushed it to 21?

I’m not either, it means the switch day of the week moves along a day each time. I had my change at the weekend on Saturday with the 2 now not so :(

Yeah, I do Sundays after a shower.
A changeover on a work day for me is not ideal.. sometimes I need to clear the BT cache on my phone. ( the model I have involves hooking up to my PC to do this & go into a "safemode" boot on my device.)
I have been lucky having one sensor fail to date in 6 years?
Then there is the double checking the calibration.

Every 14 days. Sunday is my time to set this up.

Mountain out of mole hill makers ,queues , crowds , shopping on a Saturday hmm just shopping I guess no matter what day it is
Unfortunately these days lucozade isn’t the best to raise blood sugars it doesn’t have much sugar in it to raise them quick normal Coke Cola is best as it’s te only one that hasn’t had it’s sugar reduce de to the” fat “ tax other really quick things are the gels that cyclist use the problem has alwys been if using the Libre is that ittakes 20 mins for it to catch up to your actual blood sugar so it’ll constantly alarm even though your sugar has risen

To be frank. I disabled the alarms on the Libre app & use a 3rd party app in conjunction for a heads up alarm..
I can “snooze” the 3rd party app for 40 minutes.
If my basal is causing the issue? It will nag me again within the hour.

Can I ask what app you're using, I'm using diabox at the moment but I keep getting an app stop responding error, also trying gluroo but it has a steep learning curve

I was using Diabox for years & was starting to get similar errors too.?
Currently using Juggluco which can now be found on Android’s play? Works alongside librelink & provides the Home Screen at a glance reading on a widget along with a “floating” readout with other apps open like satnav should I so wish..

I preferred the interface with Diabox but it was starting to become a little too unstable on my device…

needles, bloods sampling, infact most medical stuff which usually result in panic/anxienty attacks :(
Libre doesn't read blood glucose it uses relationship with the interstitial fluid and lags behind. You should carry finger pricker with you regardless if cgm or not. Instructions clearly state not to rely on it for medical decisions and should check via blood glucose highs and lows.

It's worth calling abbot to get replacement sensor as failed early that will be free. It's also worth calling them if it's consistently large difference between results they may replace in those circumstances as well.

Sometimes the cgm detects a drop in levels and goes headlong down, but then it modifies itself to the true reading. If possible always test with a finger-prick before making a decision to eat sugars.

I've been using DiaBox for years, and every once in a while it starts to become very slow to react. I'm assuming this is because it keeps all data.
So once or twice a year, when it becames annoyingly slow I remove the app and reinstall, which for me fixes the issue.

Totally agree.
From what I’ve read & understand the brain gets priority with the routing of blood glucose where the interstitial fluid layer is pretty much last in line.

There seemed to be an update of the Libre app in anticipation of the L2+ a number of months back?
Oddly at the same time Diabox for me was suggesting my Libre 2 (not the 15 day one) was due to expire in “15 days.”

I tried all the stuff with clearing cache, reinstalling apps. Diabox when I tapped would open & shut back down?
I’d have error banners. You name it.
Shame really. I really loved the app?

Oddly, using Juggluco on my device it still thinks my sensor finishes in “15 days” but ends in 14.
lol. It even offers the function of putting the “end date” in my outlook diary?
On my phone it’s actually been far more stable Dispite the odd quirks..
you can’t calibrate juggluco. But it will partner seamlessly with xDrip which can be calibrated & less of faff to partner up as opposed to LL through the oopk app?

I had my prescription changed to the L2+. But I’m still given the L2.
Which is not a major issue for me. Historically not many of my sensors have needed calibrating..

Hi thanks for your comment and yes your right lowering the sugar levels have made lucozade less effective but never been a full fat coke fan, but I may have to switch to something else.
I work nights in a busy factory but the 1 thing I wish is that they increase the lower range from
5.6 to say 6.6 to allow me to to stop it dropping under 5 as mine drop very fast. I best get ready for work thanks for your input.
