Would anyone know of any like funding for anything to help pay for it? Because I want to get the starter kit but I know that once the sensors in that are used up I won't be able to afford anymore

Put my second sensor in today, placed it a bit badly though every time i stretch my arm i get a bit of sting feeling. Next one will be further outward.

Loving it so far though, i've been told that it takes up to 24-36 hours before you get proper reading from the sensor but so far the finger prick and the sensor are about the same within a few hours of placing the new sensor. But to be honest i would never have gotten it if it wasn't payed for by our health care, way too expensive for me.

I've had probably over ten sensors now, but I'm still sceptical about accuracy. This morning I woke up and it said "LO", meaning it's too low to even say what the reading is. I had a chocolate bar and tested about half and hour later. It still said "LO" so I did a blood test. To my horror, it was 18.8. I did another and it was 19.2.

I took the sensor off and emailed Abbott. This just isn't good enough. I hope they're considering upgrading it as time goes on.

Come payday due to a bit of help from my Union I'm now being paid properly for holiday pay and have some back pay coming to me.
I'm going to buy myself 2 sensors and use the LibreLink app on my phone.

It won't replace my finger pricking infact every bolus i need will be from finger results and other crucial times of the day will be from finger pricking.

For me it will be to monitor trends and in particular i want to see how noodles which my wife makes for me react with my BG so that i may be able to make lets say accurate adjustments for them.

If all goes well with these sensors i will try and keep atleast 1 in store for specific occasions such as, dare i say the very rare times of illness or hospital procedures.

Looking forward to trying one.

They look also look less of a hassle to fit than the CGM senors that I've seen, definitely a much more convenient method.

Regards

Martin
