just a quick question
whats the battery life of the Freestyle Libre hand set how often dose it needs charging or are you better to use the phone app.
 
Hi @caretaker - I tend to charge my sensor about once a month, i'm sure that the life cycle of the unit would decrease over time though, but you can easily see when the unit is starting to run low.
 
You will get a low battery alert when the reader is running out of power. At this point you typically have about 1 days usage left so best to charge at this point which takes a couple of hours. If you run the reader and phone app concurrently then you will be able to use the app whilst the reader is charging.

It is important that if you wish to use the app and the reader together you must activate the sensor with the reader and then with your phone within 60 minutes
 
cant wait until next month fingers crossed i can get a libre on the NHS.
mind you it took me 2 years to get on a pump.
 
you might have your fingers crossed for quite some time!
