It may be noteworthy to say it could reduce finger testing, but not eliminate it any time soon. Users on insulin, or other potentially hypo inducing medication are still required to follow the safe driving rules, unless that has chnged in the very recent past.
 
You should always check your blood sugar levels before driving or undertaking strenuous exercise therefore by all means do a finger prick test. As far as I'm aware it is not a rule but a sensible guideline, this I know through experience. The bottom line would be whichever method proved to be the more accurate when it comes to reading bg levels. Cheers for replying.
 
No, that's actually a legal requirement now. If you take insulin you must test before you drive and every 2 hours whilst driving. Plus it still needs to be a test from a blood glucose meter, not a Libre as it tests interstitial fluid, not blood.

Everyone misquotes this. It is still listed as DVLA advice, not a legal requirement, so I'm not sure what would happen were it to go to court.

That doesn't mean it's not sensible to do it though.
