Hi all, as a new member I cant reply to the current on going thread so posting a new one sorry. Ok, Ive sorted this for my wife, yesterday like many her IPHONE 7 app went blank, I wont go into what occurred but this is how we sorted it and got it back very easily .

1: Press on and hold the app icon and then follow the simple instructions and delete the full app from your phone
2: Go to the app store NB the librelink Gb or and libre 2 apps have been removed so please don't search for them within the store!!!
3: Once you've opened the app store press your account icon in the top righthand corner.
4: Next press the PURCHASED icon, this will show every app you've downloaded whether free or paid for!!
5: scroll down and you will see your old Freestyle GB icon Librelink 2.
6: Now NB there are 2 options, download or open, you cant download because its not available and you'd think how can I open something that Ive deleted, but press OPEN. I tried downloading and nothing happens.
And its back up and working, no need to fit a new sensor. The app is back up and running with updated ability to continually monitor and see your glucose levels. I must add what a let down Libre have been. And conflicting information and lack of support. And YES it WORKS on IPHONES 7 when they say it does not?? We were lucky enough to have the app on my iphone SE 2020 and it auto updated and we signed in and it worked perfect, so when the app comes back and someone else has a phone ensure they download the app just in case!!! And my wife whos been diabetic for 50 years states please ensure you've got a back up system like blood testing available at home.

I’ve tried to download it/lopen it from My Purchases and it won’t let me - is anyone having the same issue? I’m abroad, so can’t phone the UK helpline number and am quickly running out of strips for my backup meter. Very disappointed in Abbott and the lack of customer support over the last 3 days.

I think its because you are abroad.
I've tried to find a UK number you can call (not an 0800 one) but can't.
Maybe search online or other forums, see if any one else knows one. Oe email them?

Hi, not sure but could it be that in your settings that downloads whilst abroad are turned off, just a stab in the dark?? It did take me 3 goes to get it to work. Each phone seems to have a life of its own. iPhone 7 now is supposedly not meant to work with the new app yet does? We were looking at spending £450 on a new one (money we really did not have to spend on a new phone when the old i7 was working well) How many folks have been out and bought one or had a upgrade? Yes, maybe Abbots should have foreseen problems and allowed for them instead of force feeding the new app without notice?? Well we never had anything until today, not good is it?

THANK YOU old timer3. Life saver! Libre2 link reinstalled. Just waiting the obligatory 60 minutes to use it. I totally agree: a lack of communication with users from the company. I would not have known about this was it not for the lovely people on here. How NOT to run a medical company! Once again, much appreciated :)

As a past customer. Purchasing for 2 years prior to getting on NHS. I was kept up to date very well with emails. They have also reported themselves to the MHRA.

Its difficult to understand when they have all our details why they did not even inform everyone a week prior at least?? From what your saying some people were, why not across their full database then?? They can advertise on the TV! and email us with this that and the other but no warning of this?? They knew they were updating the App and when, yet clearly did not see any problems. This is really down to a poor launching and testing of the new App. Where/when peoples health is at risk there is no excuse whatsoever for such fundamental error/s on so many fronts in my view. I'll tell you 100% what they will say: We will learn lessons from this. Same as the NHS mantra or when any establishment shows incompetence!!! I can clearly remember the human insulin launch back in the 80s, no information, 100 strength given across the board in place of 40/80 strength and we were told Pork insulin was no longer available by Boots!! Of course when people in the US started dying and families suing it all came to light and doses were reduced by 25%. We were told time and time again by specialists and pharmacists that they were the same, even though we knew and said there was a fundamental difference because of the impact of extremely life threatening hypos which had never occurred before.

This proves that everyone must have at hand a blood testing kit. Don't rely on tech 100%, NEVER.
