Hi,
I’ve been using this for a few months now. I sometimes use the finger prick test.
I’ve become concerned that the app is under recording by about 2 mmol/L compared to the blood test.
Any views please?
Thanks
David

usually reads a bit lower for me too. wouldnt be too concerned if consistant and you know how much approx by keeping well hydrated should help somewhat :)

there are third party apps which 'calibrate' it. if choosing to do so ensure that you do when glucose levels are relatively stable otherwise runs risk of reading slightly even higher or can indeed be a little lower depending on which way your bg is moving at the time of calibration.

another thing to consider is 'compression lows' if i stand reads slightly higher sit a little lower, lay down in bed larger difference. with accuracy on bg monitor alongside the libre. both have expected levels of accuracy, if add accurcies together you may find still is well within the limitations. eg if cgm reading lower and bg reading on the higher end or indeed vice versa.

CGM readings usually lag behind a blood draw @davidmillan. When you do a finger prick test you are directly testing your blood, so you are measuring how much blood sugar is in your blood in that instant. With a CGM the sensor is not measuring blood direct, it is measuring interstitial fluid (ISF). It takes around 5-10 mins, give or take, depending on the person, for the reading to catch up with your blood draw, but generally the CGM result will lag around 10 mins behind your finger prick result.
