Hi
Does anyone have any spare ketone strips I could have, I only use this a couple of times a year and have lost my 10 pack.

Just bumping this for you. If you are unable to get any here, I'm sure your HCP would be able to organise some for you.

Thank you I have to make an appointment with my doctor, get him to add to repeat prescription, then ask for prescription which goes to chemist but it can take a fortnight to get appointment with dr then another 3 days to get the prescription delivered.

A very kind forum user has offered me some

Sorry to hear the process is hard. Is it possible to request the script through a nurse by phone?

No, has to be in writing with 48 hours notice, if it isn't on the list you have to see GP

Ask for a telephone appointment... The GP will phone you back and discuss and can get the script done without any hanging around weks for an appt.

Or if you joined as an online patient you could just message the Practice... I did this when I come off my pump and needed levemir added as a repeat prescription. Just messaged them and script was done the same day - enough for 28days to see if it was going to be ok. Then messaged them again when sure I was staying on levemir to ask them to put on repeat for me.

No appt necessary.

Online patient, my surgery isn't that forward thinking, to get to speak to GP you have to get passed receptionist, and for prescriptions this is a no no it has to be in writing I kid you not, it is only in the last year that pharmacy can ask for your repeat, before that you had to do it yourself . The pharmacy goes with it in writing and they still have the 48 hrs wait.

Would be worth while looking for a GP that conforms with NHS basic requirements of online services etc. I really would comsider looking at a different GP Practice...

I like my GP, I think you built a relationship up with the receptionists, nurses and GP. It is close to chemist, and has close parking.
Just a little bit slow in making modern changes, I dread the thought of him retiring as diabetes is the least of my problems.

Are you in England? Only that there is certain criteria for online registration quite clearly set out for GPs!

Understand that its good for you in many aspects but you should not have to experience problems in getting basics...

Hi @Shar67 ! Did you get hold of some ketone strips? I can send you some if you still need them?
