Hi all,
I recently was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in Jan 2016. I've been using the one glucose monitor since then: the Freestyle Optium Neo. I am currently on a basal/bolus regimen. I have been recording all my insulin doses into the monitor before my meals and also my basal doses in the evenings. This helped me keep track of when I was eating and let me and my doctor see how my readings have been going before and after meals from the computer.
However just last week, the insulin input button disappeared from the monitor. I had input my lunchtime insulin dose and then when dinnertime came around the little insulin picture in the top right was gone. I can still review all my older inputs of insulin and I can view and record new glucose readings. I know that the memory did not get full because it deletes older readings as that happens. I've plugged the monitor into the computer and backed up my readings, however I'm not allowed to clear everything and just start again.
Also, my doctor did not set up any insulin restrictions or functions on the monitor when it was given to me, as far as I am aware.
I have replaced the battery once in the lifetime of the monitor, but the battery is not low at the moment.
I just wanted to ask if anyone else has encountered this issue with the same model as me. And if we find a solution it could help others who may have the same problem in the future.
