Freestyle with Miao Miao

Hi all,
I purchased a Miao Miao CGM device to work with my Libre. The first time I used it my Libre sensor died (RIP!) after 7 days which has never happened before. I was using the Glimp app which flashes up a warning “The NFC antenna model of this device can break Libre sensors. We strongly recommend not to use this device to read the sensors”. I use my phone/librelink to scan and not a Libre reader.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Happy Monday everybody x

I use the Libre app on my iPhone to start the Libre. Afterwards, my Glimp and X-drip apps are on my android, and although I've seen that error message, it's never affected my sensor in 12 months of using it. Try scanning the removed sensor as a test when it's off your arm. My scans after it's removed. If it scans then it was probably another issue.
If your sensor is dead, in the Glimp app, if you go to options, setting, list of compatible devices, and you may want to check if your phone model is there. (Mine is on the list of non-compatible devices but still works. I also use MM.)
Good luck.

Thankyou ert, I’m experimenting again on my 2nd week of Libre so if MM kills it it’ll nearly have finished anyway!
Do you still scan your Libre? I find that if I don’t the trail disappears. I scan a lot less just to keep the Libre trailing.
I’m probably being a bit thick here but I couldn’t find an options thing on Glimp.

Hi,

I found XDrip more stable almost flawless with the MM2 as opposed to Glimp. Which was great for scanning in the early days & calibrating to the meter?

You could try (if on android.) going into "system apps" clearing the data & the cache in "Bluetooth share" & "Bluetooth test."
Also "quick connect." If you have it? Then restarting the phone? Basically forgetting any old devices & starting again with the MM???

The warning you get can happen. I've personally had no issue & can still scan through the the MM.

What phone do you have?
Which Miaomiao do you have, 1 or 2??

Thankyou for your reply! Much appreciated. I have a MM2. I’m not great with tech but I’ll look at your suggestions and yes I’m using android on a few yrs old Sony smartphone. I’m experimenting again with Glimp/MM2 in my 2nd week of Libre but maybe I’ll try XDrip if this goes tts up again.

Hi again,

My phone is knocking on a bit. No reason for me to change. Why complicate things by needlesly going over budget on devices..
