How much fruit may be eaten daily and what are the best kinds for low glycemic index?

The best types of fruit for diabetics are usually berries and northern climate fruit like apples. Usually tropical fruits have more carbs and sugar in them.
You are better off finding out what portions of fruit do to you by testing.

Oh yeah, fruit in cans is a bad idea because of the syrup they are packed in, dried fruits, currants, fruit juices are also high in sugar and carbs!

Little and varied throughout the day is best.

Bananas are probably a good one to avoid, as they have both a high carb content and higher GI than most fruit. As far as I know the best to stick to are berries, apple, plums, pears etc

I find most berries and sour cherries do not affect my BG much
