Fried Bread Advice

Jim,

I know that the diabetes care is lousy in most parts of the Uk, but I wish that we HT sufferers got at least half that. It's a nightmare even to get diagnosed. I knew I had it years and years before I could get a doctor to take me seriously, so you sister and your cat have my sympathy. I didn't think about cats getting it...something to consider as we have 10 cats.

I'm glad you did resist the Mars, although you made me laugh! I've seen those things....it's not pretty. They used to sell them battered in Aberdeenshire when I lived there. We eat spag bol, but often have 'noodles' made out of courgette cut into julienne strips. It's quite a good sub, even though I hate courgette.

By the way, I didn't think you were being flippant - I thought your post was really funny!

Indeed, it seems from what I have read that despite claims to a uniform universal regimen for DM this has yet to approach perfection. I cannot comment from personal experience other than to say I am seldom not dismayed at its unevenness across my recent experiences and contradictions in some cases but that is for another time, another thread.
Sorry to read of your experiences of frustration re the HT. Not sure how my sister's diagnosis came about but she is a former SRN so maybe she has a "special relationship" with her GP. She has another cross to bear in that my bro in law is also Type 2.
As to our single cat it emerged during a check up after he lost weight, he was christened "Big Dave" owing to his size and was failing to live up to it... he was constantly hungry too. Luckily he was insured so he gets cheap pills for now tho he may have to have an op. His teeth need doing too. We don't know his age because he simply turned up in the garden one day and never left.
Oh well, back to work....
