Searched long and hard in supermarket with squinty eyes hurting for a low carb idea for a pizza base and found wholewheat mediteranian wraps @ 22 carbs each .Thought this might work and guess what ?: It turned out to be truely FABULOUSLY SCRUMPTIOUS .. so since sharing is caring I figured I must be kind and share with u all:

Spread a Mediteranian wrap with tomato puree, sprinkle of basil, crushed dried chillies ,sundried tomatoes, sweetcorn ,sliced black olives and sprinkling of grated cheese. They were my choice of toppings but I guess anything u like would work..Few mins in.oven and voila!

Absolute heaven, base turned out crunchy and crispy too ,which is great as I wasnt sure how it would work as a base ..Thats it ! I can cope now:)!Diabetes doesnt look so bad after all! :) !

U will be so thrilled with yourseilf @urbanracer.Took minutes to prepare and make.. I got 2 packs of 5 wraps in each pack on special offer 1.50 (euro) for the two packs .In dunnes stores here in Ireland.I would say most supermarkets would have them though ! Im newly diagnosed and was finding it hard to come to terms with the new way of counting carbs etc..but this is such a Godsend to me and I dont deel so deprived now! :)

You can buy ultra low wraps from the low carb megastore. Make it even lower, think they are 5 grams per wrap.

Are they mediteranian wraps though ©dawnmc ? ..as I dont think the normal thin type wraps would work. These ones I got are like pockets ,kinda like pittas, doubled layered type of wrap which work really well in my opinion.at least. I had a feeling by the look of them that they would work.as a pizza base and they excell . Crispy ,delicious and quick from prep to mouth :)!

I've made it a couple of times, and the only way to know it isnt a thin and crispy pizza base, is that you dont feel bloated, and there is no indigestion!

I think I might try it and maybe give it a go with sesame flour instead. I haven't actually missed pizza but these recipes made my mouth water. It was however, one of our staple cheap & cheerful meals when we were first married a lifetime or so ago.

I used to make a NO-CARB thin pizza base from cooked chicken breast and mozzarella.

Just but it both in a blender and blend until it's like fine breadcrumbs. Then, press it into a quiche dish, and bake for 10 mins at 200 degrees. Then, add your sauce, cheddar and toppings and bake for another 10 mins until the cheddar is melted.

Super low carb, and very filling. An 8" pizza made like this is more than enough for a big fella like me - and I could nail a normal 14" pizza on my own with ease!
