Frio

yeah maybe i should try phoning them. My trip from the chemist to home is 5 minutes in UK temperatures. My next trip will be 12 hours minimum some of it in 40C so I really don't want to risk spoiling it. I also have the hassle of airport scanners etc. I have a doctors letter for the needles but I wonder how they would be with a flask and ice? On our last trip they were very off about my husbands empty metal water bottle. If I could get away with the unused one in a Frio pack it would be the easiest solution.

The joys of diabetes guys....................every trip/adventure is planned out with military precision!

I was in Rhodes a few years back and woke up on the first night terrified, I had a nightmare that I had boarded the plane and realised I had forgotten all my insulin supplies..............the sad thing is I've had this nightmare more than once! :(

yep it's a bit of a pain but the so and so will not stop me lol. My travelling check list used to be - passport, tickets, money but now it's - drugs, passport, ticket, money. I'm thankful to have the drugs though.

I was in France looking for some ice to keep my cool box cool (a couple of years ago I left a cool box in my car boot, and it actually was hotter than the car - it had lost any 'coolness' and the insulated box was actually keeping the heat in!)

I found out that in France they don't sell ice, even in the biggest supermarkets...

However, they do have fish counters in most medium-big sized supermarkets, where the fish are laid out on beds of ice. All the places I stopped were more than happy to give me a big bag of ice for free :)

I never had to use my back up plan of going to McDonalds and asking for a large cup of ice. A good job since I don't know the French for cup or ice! I hope talking slowly in English and pointing would do the job!

This is the one I would really like but I can't find a stockist in UK.

This is the one I will probably get as I have found a UK stockist.
I just can't take the risk of spoiling my unused Byetta by letting it go above 8C. Putting ice near it could also be risky at it must not freeze. Like someone said the picnic type cool bags probably wont do the job. I travel a lot so it will get used and for peace of mind and hopefully ease of use, I think it will be worth the investment.
