In terms of evolutionary time scale, it was only yesterday that we were hunting meat and eating seeds. Cultivating wheat, and corn may be Man's biggest mistake. I would not include barley as this is used almost exclusively for making scotch!

My father-in Law was one of the only people I ever knew who had Scotch on prescription from his doctor one of the most enlightened GP's on Earth in my opinion.
