I have a FS libre reader from the UK (for my daughter) and now I have sensors form Germany because I am away from the UK. The last UK sensor will expire in about three days and I have to start a new sensor from the ones I got from Germany. I heard that if the sensor and the reader are from different countries they will not communicate with each other( language barrier). So do think this going to be the case and is there away around it. I have 8 sensors from Germany and I do not want to loss them. I tried to got a help from freestylelibre,co.uk but it seems they are helpless.

why can't everyone get on........
the only thing I can think of is to buy a reader in Germany to use with the german sensors.

Did you call or email the usual helpline number or did you contact someone else? My feeling is the guys we talk to or email as first line support, with a good knowledge of the day to day issues, but maybe not such a great handle on much background. You may need to have the matter escalated to someone with more resources or access to more knowledgeable folks.
You could always download the LibreLink app from the German play store. I'm sure that will work.
But of sure the are not going to work togther ??
I fill the form on the website and got a replay they will contact me withing 48 hours but they never come again to me. This happened twice

I must admit, I found the email support disappointing. Could you call them at all?
I did wonder about the LibreLink app, but I don't use it myself, so couldn't guess if it would work.
LiberLink app is an option but I like the idea of having a standalone device for Libre. I sent it with my daughter to the school, which I can not do with the mobile unless I buy dedicated one for the FS Libre

Finally I heard from Abbot. Here is their replay in case somebody comes cross my situation
"Please be informed that the Libre reader purchased from United Kingdom is comapible with the sensors purchased from United Kingdom as well. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that that the sensors purchased from another country will work with your reader as most probably they will not be comaptible."

with that answer your cheapest option is to buy a reader from Germany to link with the german bought sensors.

Shame it isn't more definitive.
Personally, I would be inclined to try one sensor with the existing reader. The cost of a sensor and the cost of a reader are broadly similar, unless German costs differ materially, and if it doesn't work, then immediately order a German reader, which could arrive quickly and be used on the sensor already applied - unless for a bizarre reason the UK reader "broke" the German sensor.
I do know test strips from elsewhere can be used in a UK meter, because I've had to buy some whilst in the Tropics. I appreciate sensors and readers are very different animals, but from a product development perspective the costs of developing different products would be massive - especially as their launch dates were broadly similar across Europe.
That would be my personal gamble. I obviously can't tell you what to do. You have to make your on mind up.
I'd love to hear how it goes. It could be useful information to someone else, sometime, too.
