I never seem to find the lowest point of our local diabetic care. Just when I think they've hit it, they pull out anoher one. It's not me but my T1 husband. He had an eye lasered a week or 2 ago and yesterday, unknown to me, he had cloudy vision in that eye. He needed to go to the hospital for blood samples anyway, so dropped in on Eye Casualty. the doctor there looked at it and said it might well be one of the lasered vessels seeping as it shrinks, but that he needs to make an appointment with the diabetic eye clinic. On his way out, he tried to do that and was told by the receptionist, that they "aren't allowed do that". I asked him why he didn't just go back to the doctor to complain, but he says he was in a hurry to get back to work and that he will write to the diabetic eye consultant. I've told him to phone at least.
My husband has a talent for not asking the right questions or taking hold of situations. This man has 2 degrees and as much commonsense as our baby granddaughter. He'd be dead by now if he had to rely on the NHS, without me to chase them up. I don't know who I'm angrier with, them or him
