Just wondering if anyone else has weird fussy foods likes/dislikes?!

For example, I love Mushrooms but I can't stand mushroom soup or any kind of musroom sauce. I also love Cherries but I can't stand cherry flavoured yogurts or ice cream?! My OH loves sweetcorn but can't stand corn on the cob (or perhaps he's just being awkward, I will run some tests and let you know )

How is this possible? Mushrooms taste mushroomy just like mushroom soup! But my taste buds tell me otherwise

I love garlic and I love cheese but cant stand garlic flavoured cheese CAROL

Hell of a lot of time and money goes into flavouring foods so it isn't too surprising... I read once they strip out the original flavour and replace it with the synthetic variety.

good point Jim, but I'm talking about actual mushrooms vs actual homemade mushroom soup made with the very same mushrooms! Taste totally different to me.....or perhaps it's the consistency of the soup I don't like?? Hmmmmmm.......

I love Pizza (on a cheat day) and tomato sauce but couldn't eat a tomato

According to a friend employed as a food technologist a commercial lemon meringue pie is apparently unlikely to have even seen a lemon as an edible fungus is used as flavouring!

I am very careful about any ingredients we use but nothing could ever beat the flavour of a lemon meringue pie made for us by a cousin using a lemon fresh from her tree! 8) :D

Im the same Beav, I can happily eat tomatoes in currys, stews , soups and sauces etc, but gag at just the thought of eating one raw.

I did try to eat a whole tomatato when I was younger and spat it out in a holiday home,

I won't eat a BLT without lettuce but hate a plate of it :)
