It looks like You have had tests to try and determine what type of diabetes you have.
The GAD and IA-2 test are tests for the antibodies associated with autimmune type 1 diabetes. If you are positive for the antibodies you definitely have type 1. But being negative doesn't meant you aren't type 1.
A cpeptide test is to see if you are making any of your own insulin. A honeymooning type 1 might still be making some of their own insulin. Again, I don't know what the reference range is for a cpeptide test.
Have you had the opportunity to discuss the results with your doctor or diabetic nurse? They should be able to explain what they mean to you, and it's much better to get an explanation from them than from the Internet, it's fine to ask them to explain.
Do you know what type you are being treated as at the moment? How are you being managed at the moment and how are you doing as a newly diagnosed diabetic?
Hi. I can't comment on the GAD or IA2 results but my c-peptide showed a valid range from 1.1 to 4.4 ng/ml so your result shows low insulin. My result was 1.19 but still needed Basal/Bolus to control.
