not long home from consultant. c-peptide confirmed lada.
consultant was discussing something to do with possibility of gad-somethingorother injections over a 14 day period which can apparently help preserve b-cell functionality for sometime, was wondering if anyone has any experience of the above or indeed perhaps heard of?
pretty disapointed lada confirmed, wasn't a complete shock though. had hopes perhaps diagnosed inaccurately thought was more likely type2 (as several in family have) big downward hba1c diagnosis 162 back in jan as of couple of weeks ago now 38 currently zero diabetic specific meds. was asked what exercise etc will be doing over winter as that can help a fair bit. disapointed local swimming pool is more or less shut down for the winter now.
has anyone got any tips or tricks to try extend honeymoon period preferably not involving needles... i am a LOT better with injections now than was still struggle - even with several diazepan.
consultants going to send further info via post so hopeful that contains more info wish i brought pen and paper with me as can't remember properly the name of the injections were that he was talking about
brightside - at least diagnosis confirmed so can try work on effective treatment plan going forward has the benefit - cgm wont be removed which was worried about so i'll take that as a win
