I was on this forum some years ago. I think my last post was in 2009, but life got in the way and time became a problem. I hope I'll be forgiven for being AWOL so long.
Some may know me from other forums. My name is Alan Shanley. I am an Aussie who was diagnosed in 2002 and went searching the web for answers. I found some on usenet's diabetes groups, where I encountered the best advice I received from any source for newly diagnosed type 2s. I put that into practice, it worked, and these days I pass it on to any new type 2 who is prepared to read or listen
. Along the way in a decade on several forums I have picked up lots of other tips to help control this terrible condition. I hope to continue learning here, and maybe pass on some ideas to help.
I hope to hang around for a little longer this time.
