Hello everyone.
35 years a type 2 and dumped the carb diet after being told all this time that it was essential to control my blood sugars.
Having changed to a low carb diet I have lost 56 lbs and reduced my waist size by 6" plus my insulin has reduced from 44 units to 12 units per day.
My next goal is to increase my fitness levels but I am on a low pension and can't afford gym fees. I have read that I could be entitled to prescription exercise classes, can anyone confirm this or better still give information on how to obtain it ?

Some GPs can do a referral to a gym. However, it may still involve fees paid.
I got a referral scheme up and running between my GP and gym and it gave people a personal trainer for 2 x 1hr sessions a week and discounted membership. Trouble is many GPs don't do this.. But with their Patient Participation Groups could recommend that they look into this.....
Some gyms are cheaper for oap's anyway.

Wwll done on general improvement for health!!
