I'm not too worried we after all have plenty of leather shoes in the hall we can boil for sustenance.

And have noticed the odd unwary pigeon landing on the scaffolding outside our bedroom window.

I used to have a little dog who was a skilled and avid hunter and would often dispatch a pigeon or two in the garden, but his offers to me were generally in the form of dead rats on the living room carpet. However they might have been more suitable protein wise than boiled shoe leather?
