Getting high sugar readings by infection

Had a tooth infection which gave me highs went to dentist had clean up of gum disease. Blood sugar still high went back got antibiotics blood sugar going down antibiotics finished blood sugar gone back up so dentist remove my teeth back on antibiotics sugars going down finished course sugar gone back but now they have gone from 12 to 29 with ketones reading which I tested at hospital and I was clear of them weird? Now take metformin 2 aday which i didn't have to before my dentist trip but my sugar is still high start taking prebiotic and I'm high all day tops 20 no lower than 11 on a good day. Have I got a infection somewhere in my body and how to find this out. Thanks for any help or point in the right direction
 
Good Morning leong,
I would think the best thing to do is see your Doctor and ask for a Blood and Urine test.
The results of either or both should show if you have any infections anywhere.

Yea blood is done nothing wrong just waiting for urine to come back. Never had this before where as I take metformin and my blood sugar levels don't drop I'm losing weight also never been overweight just under 11stone

Sounds to me like you should be asking your doctor for a c-peptide test and maybe a GAD antibody test to test how much insulin you are making and also the possibility that you may be LADA. You are showing the classic signs. I am not trying to diagnose you but if I were you I would push for these tests to rule it out.

I also forget to mention when I was 1st diagnose I was 22 at the hospital but was drinking alot and weeing lost alot more of weight.Now I've hit 20 and over 29 but no thrust or weeing alot ? Just dark under eyes lose appetite.

Found out I got urine infection so maybe that's why I was so high. On a course of antibiotics so will see how it goes and I post my levels after I've finished
 
When I had a urine infection my levels hit 29 as well. It's horrible but they should hopefully stabilise when the infection clears. If not definitely get back to your GP.
