Hi, I am looking for advice and help for my daughter. She in diabetic type 1 using a pump and novo rapid insulin in vials. She is currently in peru for her university year abroad. When she went she had enough insulin to last but due to climate and foods available she is now going to be short of vials. I am visiting her in 5 weeks for 1 week and want to know if I can take her some and how is the best way to do this. She can't get hold of the vials in Peru, I have already emailed novo nor disk to check but she understandably doesn't want to have to return to pens and injections. Please offer any advice that you can , I am really worried about her running out and suffering. Thanks everyone

I would suggest she contacts her GP in the uk for a prescription that you can collect. Then you get the insulin from the chemist and take out to her

Thanks Hale710
I do have vials for her, does anyone have any experience of taking them abroad for a relative?
I don't want a problem at the airport in Spanish, which I won't understand....

The vials are under 100ml aren't they? So they go in hand luggage and you should have no problem

It would be best to get a letter from her doctor explaining what you are doing, in case they ask
