Well at the moment my hidranitus is in flare up big time, my blood sugars are running and 20 and above support from the medical team is none exsistant. I went to to hospital to have an absceess drained under local but the surgeon said it had to be done under a general, the aneasatist said I couldn't have a general so as a result it didn't get done. I had no one to look after my daughter and I would have to stay for 2 days to go on a slding scale. My Dad has had a quadruple heart bypass on Monday so I have been under a lot of strain leading up to it and stess makes the hs work.
I got very annoyed at the Drs on Friday and expressed how unhappy I am and how being told I'm in a catch 22 situation is not helping anything. The neuropathy in my hands in really bad, as is my gastric reflux.
They are now looking at funding an insulin pump for me.

Poor Jo,you have a lot to contend with!Why do they need to use a general? There are some very effective locals nowadays.
 
If you have an infection, as in abcess, it puts your BGs up. High BGs make you feel awful, so getting rid of the abcess should help all of it. Why can't they do it under local anaethetic, if they do caesareans that way? It's not usually such a huge thing. Wheree is this abcess?
The worry about your dad, I can't suggest anything for.I just wish your dad well.
 
The main abcsess is in my groin so it's making walking hard. The surgeon say it's to big to do with a local as it's the size of a tennis ball and abscesses do not numb with a local, I know this and have gas and air to help. I regularly have them drained and always have them done with a local as it's less of a risk to my health. This surgeon knew little about hs as he also said the reason I keep getting them is because I don't have a general.....hellooooooo he needs to learn about the condition!!!!
I find myself getting so low about everything because I have tried everything. I have chronic gastric reflux and very often bring up my medication which is not helping the insulin resistance, the gastroenterologist says I am on the strongist medication I can have. I feel rather doomed!
