Anonymous question submitted:

My fasting blood sugar level is 4.6. However my two hour reading after meals goes as high as 12.6 with 15 units of human mixtard insulin taken before start of meal... after 4 hours it comes back to 6.4. How do I ensure two hour reading within range? I am diagnosed as type 2 diabetics.

Ask your doctor to switch you to a basal bolus regime, so you can use a faster acting insulin instead of Mixtard.
