Hi, does anyone have experience of taking glibenclamide? I’ve put on this during pregnancy to treat the baby for mody before there born.

Does anyone find there really sensitive to it? I was put on 5mg tablet and have constant hypos, I’m now On a quarter of a tablet but I’m high after tea and in the morning but have hypos in the night ‍♀️ the doctors don’t really know what to do! I usually take gliclazide but they don’t know the affects on pregnancy

Mody is so rare but I hope you find some support!
The drug you have been given is one which encourages your body to make extra insulin which is why you are having hypos.
This is an old drug but nothing new is tested in pregnant women for obvious reasons.
All I can say having been pregnant x 3 is that by the middle of it you should be naturally a lot more insulin resistant and so won't get the hypos.
I appreciate that with a toddler too geting up for hypos is tiring. Do you have an fsl.
The other thing to say is that the hypos are a nuisance but shouldn't harm the baby which was something which I worried about when I had them in early pregnancy.
