Good morning all, I just thought I'd give a bit of an update regarding my weight gain on gliclazide over the last few years. I've been off them for a few weeks now and, even though my life has suddenly become busy and I haven't been able to participate in my daily fitness regime almost for a month, I've lost 10lbs - without even trying. I'm only on half my dose of gliclazide, compared to previous and, I'm so happy because I can imagine where I'd be now if I'd had the time to carry out my fitness regime and the diet. I've decided to keep a food diary, that's into its third weeks now, and I didn't realise just how little I ate. Ok, I eat regularly, but week one I ate normal and that was 1100 cals/day, I'm currently on week three of 8-850/day. Weight loss is slower than week one, 6lb first week, but I've been a little busy on less active things. As well as being a full-time carer for someone with a spinal cord injury ... In my "spare" time I've had to change my exercise regime and concentrate on my other hobby ... I bake birthday cakes and there's a lot of birthdays in August for me. As a side note ... Does anyone else hate the smell of sugar as much as me :-D Sent from my B3-A20 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app
