Gliclazide - withdrawal side effects?

Hi,

Has anyone had any side effects (other than BG changes!) when coming off Gliclazide?

I was only on 40mg a day but since coming off it Wednesday just gone I've had severe headaches and I'm having to take the maximum dose of paracetamol just to get by. I don't usually suffer from headaches so I can only imagine this is what migraine is like - had to lay down in a darkened room earlier...

It may, of course, be pure coincidence and totally unrelated to the gliclazide. Possibly a virus or something. I'll go to the quack tomorrow or Monday if it doesn't improve (yes my GP surgery is open on a Sunday! - 365 days a year from 07:00 to 22:00 hrs in fact!)

Well, my rmoval from Glic (40mg, 20mg, 0mg was totaly uneventful, with no symtoms, bit higher BG but compensated with LC diet :D
 
I recently went from 2x80mg to 1x80mg and again apart from slightly raised BS levels the only impact was reduced instances of hypo which was the primary reason for reduction in the first place so no issues that I recall.


Diagnosed Type II 1998 1 x 80 mg Gliclazide, 4 x 500mg Metformin and 1 x 100mg Sitagliptin - HbA1c - 48 mmol/mol
 
This is reall good to hear. Because i am desperate to go on weight loss injection but i can't buy them because i am on gliclizide. Waiting to hear from the diabetic specialist to have a meet about possibly coming off it. My BG 's are well controlled atm so i have my fingers crossed.
