I had blurred vision when my numbers were coming down. It’s advised not to get new glasses until your BG has settled downHi, long story short, I was recently, as in the last 2 weeks, put on Glicliside to get my very high blood sugars down. I'm type 2 around 5 days after starting i noticed my vision is blurry, to the extent that dont consider it safe to drive. I have read online that this is due to the lens adjusting to the lower blood sugars and is temporary. My question is has any one experianced this, and how long did it last?
How long were you affected?I had blurred vision when my numbers were coming down. It’s advised not to get new glasses until your BG has settled down
I have. As the concentration of glucose in bodily fluids changes the refractive index of the fluids in the eye, plus cornea and lens, also changes, so sharpness of vision can change. You tend not to notice when concentrations are increasing, as its relatively slow, but when it falls the change can be quite quick.Hi, long story short, I was recently, as in the last 2 weeks, put on Glicliside to get my very high blood sugars down. I can’t really remember as I was diagnosed 16 years ago, but possibly 2 or 3 months until I got my numbers down to within rangeHow long were you affected?
My eyes went blurry before I was diagnosed and that was the kick I needed to go to the doctors. My HBA1C was 126 and I was put onto Gliclizide and Metformin - they did consider going straight to insulin. Your eyes go blurry because high blood sugar draws water out of your body - it's why you need to pee so much - but it also draws water out of the lenses in your eyes. It affected my distance vision first.Hi, long story short, I was recently, as in the last 2 weeks, put on Glicliside to get my very high blood sugars down.
