Hi, long story short, I was recently, as in the last 2 weeks, put on Glicliside to get my very high blood sugars down. I'm type 2 around 5 days after starting i noticed my vision is blurry, to the extent that dont consider it safe to drive. I have read online that this is due to the lens adjusting to the lower blood sugars and is temporary. My question is has any one experianced this, and how long did it last?

I had blurred vision when my numbers were coming down. It’s advised not to get new glasses until your BG has settled down

I have. As the concentration of glucose in bodily fluids changes the refractive index of the fluids in the eye, plus cornea and lens, also changes, so sharpness of vision can change. You tend not to notice when concentrations are increasing, as its relatively slow, but when it falls the change can be quite quick.

Mine changed and settled, changed and settled, for about three months as my BG fell, but I don't know if the "settling" bit was me getting used to it or no change happening. Now that my BG is both normal and stable, my vision hasn't shifted significantly (ie needing a new prescription) in nearly six years.
