Thoughts - yes, questions - yes, personal experience - yes, but we are not allowed to give medical advice. Though also your GP can't actually force you to take a particular medication.
I see that your earlier posts in here might have been before Low Carb really took off. Meaning the thousands of success stories and the Low Carb Program promoted on the company's home page.
You don't give us much information to work with. Have you tried any other diabetes medications?
What was your latest HbA1C ?
What are your typical pre prandial BG meter readings and 2hr post prandial BB meter readings?
When do/did you get the hypos - i.e. at what time of day and what was your meal prior to the hypo, how long before hypo and when in relation to taking the Gliclazide?
Are you Low Carbing? In any case what do you typically eat?
As somebody who never took any diabetes medications, I know how powerful a suitable way of eating can be.
If your HbA1C and BG meter readings aren't too bad and you are still eating more carbs than would be considered to be low, then you may want to consider eating low carb wither with reduced Glic (one tablet per day at breakfast like you ask about ) or without any Glic if low carb brings your levels down far enough on it's own.
