Well everybody I,m off again on yet another story but it is very true, in January this year i was looking forward to the new year but it started off bad :cry:
It was the 2nd week in Jan 2011 I picked up a very bad chest infection and was fighting for my breath, i went to my doctors, the doctor found my oxygen level very low and blood pressure very high, I was sent straight to hospital via a ambulance with all blue light flashing, when I arrived they put me on oxygen apperatus and steriods etc, this screwed up sugar levels, I was injecting so much insulin to get the levels down it was unbeleivable, after a few days I was sent home told not to go back to work.
After about 2 week I got a little better but was on inhalers and a very strong steriod, I went back to work and everybody was shocked as I was finding it hard to get through the day.
When I got home in the evening after bath/dinner I would sit on the setee and JADE (my Cat) would cddle up to me, well this surprised me but my wife said she can detect that you are not well.
Anyway I got over the chest infection, but Jade still insisted that every night she had a cuddle, I could,nt really understand why she was being extra close to me.
In March this year I went to a garden centre with the wife (on a Sunday) we were walking back to the car when I got asudden pain in the RH side of my chest, it was like some had stuck a knife in,
I had to stop walking as it me for a six, my wife said are you OK, I replied just a very sharp pain, after a few minutes I walked back to my 4 wheel drive but the pain started up again :shock:
When we got back to the 4 wheel drive my wife said are you Ok to drive? yes I,m Ok I said.
When I got home I sat on the setee and Jade cuddled up to me as if she could detect something.
Anyway this went on for a few days the odd pain in the chest on the RH side but not to strong, I made an appointment to see my GP and explained to him the chest pains. This was on the Thursday I spoke to my GP, well when I got home on the Friday there was a letter from the hospital, they booked me in to do some test at the end of March, the letter stated to phone their number and confirm the appointment, it did state it would be an answer phone and to leave amassage.
Anyway I rang this number and expected to leave a message but this voice was at the other end and I told them I would be with them at the end of March for the tests, this lady asked me how i was feeling, i told her the odd pain but not too bad after a long discussion she told me to put the phone down and dial 999, I told her I would but I did,nt.
My wife said what did they say to you, I told her that I was booked in at the end of the month but did not tell her they told me to dial 999.
I had the odd pain over the weekend but ignored it, they rang my wife at home and asked how i was, she told them I had the odd pain but I was not to bad.
The hospital rang me at work on the Monday and insisted that I come straight into hospital, well I went home and my wife had all my bits packed as the hospital rang my wife to tell her I was going into hospital. I got home at about midday and when I got in I sat down on the setee with a cup of tea and bags packed ready for hospital, Jade jumped up on my lap and rapped her paws around me as if she knew something was wrong, I went into hospital on the Monday, I saw all these heart consultants and told them about the pains etc, I finally got to the thearter on the Wednesday at about 4.30pm, I thought this was a waste of time as nothing was wrong with me.
In thearter they told me that they were going to look at my heart and was going to go through my groin. After about an 1/2 hour of pushing and shoving and cameras scanning my body, the surgon puled back the curtain and said MR Baum you have 90% damage on your main conoary artery and if you had not of come in you would be dead within 24hrs.
My body shook like god knows what, they put 2 stents in, I am a lot better but I have some damage on the RH conoary artery but not enough for them to do any work.
My wife and I think Jade detected something and thats why she cuddles up to me, if only she could talk. :shock:
Anyway thats how it all went, and I am here to tell the story.
